Probate and Administration Services
taking care of legal complexities
Our aim is to understand your individual needs and then offer a service to meet your specific requirements. Having looked at your individual case, you will be given a fixed price quote setting out the work that needs to be carried out and the cost.
When administering an Estate, the quotation will include the work involved in verification and valuation of all assets based in England and Wales, preparing the necessary documentation for HM Revenue & Customs, HM Courts Service, applying for the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration and distributing the Estate.
Our full Probate Administration Services:
Grant of Probate
We will take care of the complexity associated with Grant of Probate so that you will not need to attend an interview at the Probate Registry. ASTUS will carry out all the necessary action to get the Grant of Probate.
Estate Administration
Once we have obtained Grant of Probate and confirmed the value of the Estate we will administer all aspects of the Estate for assets in the sole name of the deceased.
We also include the transfer of joint assets as part of the service.
There is a huge amount of paperwork, form-filling and telephone calling to be made even after the Grant of Probate has been obtained and the Estate has been valued.
This may include:
- Cashing in life insurance policies / annuities
- Making sure the deceased receives all the entitlements they are due (e.g. Income Tax allowance)
- Ensuring the surviving spouse / family receive the any relevant tax reductions (e.g. single person’s council tax allowance)
- Preparing the Estate accounts for beneficiaries
- Selling shares
- Administering trusts
ASTUS provides the reassurance that all relevant assets will be moved from joint to sole name. This covers the same breadth of assets as those held in sole names, such as:
- Shares, bank and building society accounts, pensions
- Transfer of registered land and property (excludes first registration of unregistered land)
This also covers the transfer of all bills from joint to single names, including gas, electricity, council tax etc
